Bletchley Youth Centre was built in the 1960s and modernised in 2013. Many hundreds of young people have attended clubs over the years and there is still an annual reunion of past attendees and in 2018 we celebrated its 50th birthday. Most people who grew up in Bletchley, at some time visited the youth centre.
Although offering youth clubs every Thursday evening during term-time and during the day in holidays, in a changing world the Centre has become a central hub for the whole community. It is used by groups who offer a service, e.g. football clubs, wrestling clubs, holiday schemes/fun days, nursery provision, Macintyre, Zumba classes, Karate, Vegan tasting sessions, local prayer groups of all denominations, and much more. We also rent out the halls to local people for children’s birthday parties and the occasional evening parties.
The Centre makes a difference to the whole community through its varied activities which impact on community cohesion and a sense of well-being for individuals, families and, most importantly, young people.
The building is run by a Committee of local people, if you would like to get involved, please contact us. For more information, 01908 375648 or email: bletchleyyouthcentre16@gmail.com.
